Lineaje has launched Lineaje Federal, a newly formed, independently operated entity dedicated to serving the U.S. public sector. The company will provide purpose-built solutions to protect federal agencies’ software supply chains — a growing national cybersecurity concern.
Gartner predicts that by the end of 2025, 45% of organizations globally will experience attacks on their software supply chains, triple the number seen in 2021. Recent incidents, including the XZ Utils attack targeting open-source projects and the Ivanti breach that disrupted CISA operations, highlight how vulnerable government systems have become.
“The Federal government is at a crossroads with its approach to secure software development. Nation-state adversaries have the will and ability to infiltrate and exploit software supply chains with the eventual goal of compromising sensitive networks,” said Sarn G. Bien-Aime, CEO and founder, Asc3nd Technologies Group. “Lineaje Federal brings the right combination of people, technologies, and expertise to help technology leaders across the U.S. Federal Government identify, assess, and mitigate risks in the software supply chain. We’re honored to collaborate with Lineaje Federal to ensure the government is delivering secure software at the speed of mission that is protected from constantly evolving threats.”
Lineaje Federal is already delivering tangible results through key public sector initiatives:
-
SBIR and STTR Contracts: Lineaje was awarded a $1.8 million Phase II SBIR/STTR contract by AFWERX, the innovation arm of the Department of the Air Force. This follows a 2024 STTR Phase I award, which selected the company’s SBOM360 platform.
-
Army ASA(ALT) Pilot Program: The company is working with the U.S. Army’s Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) on a pilot to strengthen software supply chain security. The project utilizes Lineaje’s SBOM Manager to build a reference architecture for centralized SBOM generation, risk analysis, and remediation — a direct response to ASA(ALT)’s SBOM mandates.
“The ASA(ALT) pilot and recent SBIR award served as key catalysts for the creation of Lineaje Federal, reinforcing the need for dedicated resources, tailored capabilities, and a focused strategy to meet the unique security and compliance demands of U.S. federal agencies,” said Anand Revashetti, CTO, Co-Founder of Lineaje. “The pilot is more than a proof of concept; it’s a potential blueprint for how the Department of Defense can operationalize software supply chain risk management at scale. By enabling the Army to centrally generate, manage, and act on SBOM data, we’re not only helping fulfill critical policy mandates but also laying the foundation for trusted, repeatable processes that other agencies can adopt.”
Lineaje Federal is also actively shaping national cybersecurity standards. The team participates in key government working groups, including CISA’s SBOM Working Groups and the AIBOM Tiger Team, helping to define the future of software transparency and AI security in federal environments. Its platform is engineered to meet stringent security and compliance frameworks — including NIST SSDF, Zero Trust, and C-SCRM — and can be deployed across both cloud-based and air-gapped systems.
