With cyberattacks on the rise, accredited certification body SIET will leverage CYBSEC-EXPO (29th-31st May, Piacenza Expo, Italy) to illustrate the power of certification for businesses of all sizes. Through ISO certification, SIET can help companies demonstrate their cybersecurity commitment, build customer trust, and strengthen their overall security posture.
SIET will be exhibiting at CYBSEC-EXPO, taking place 29th-31st May 2024 in Piacenza, Italy, to raise awareness of its certification services in the cybersecurity field. While many existing clients know SIET for its R&D testing expertise and Accredia accredited component certifications in the energy sector, the company also offers certifications for management systems, including both quality management systems and information security management systems (ISMS).
Certification is a process where a company undergoes an external audit to ensure its adherence to specific international standards set by bodies such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It signifies a company’s commitment to following internationally recognised best practices within a particular area and continuously working to improve its systems.
“As the number of cyberattacks increases year on year, so does the number of companies being certified according to ISO/IEC 27001 – Information Security Management System ISMS. This shows how serious they are about cybersecurity and data protection,” explains Mauro Molinari, head of certification at SIET.
ISO/IEC 27001 provides a framework for companies to establish a systematic approach to information security, identifying and assessing potential security risks, implementing appropriate controls to mitigate those risks, and continuously monitoring and improving the effectiveness of their information security management system.
“Cybersecurity is a major concern for businesses of all sizes and an ISO 27001 certification can give them a clear edge when competing for contracts. It demonstrates a company’s commitment to data protection and that it is proactively working to avoid costly disruptions from cyberattacks. With more customers demanding certified suppliers, and governments favouring them for public sector contracts, ISO 27001 certification is a smart investment,” Molinari continues.
